Sandra Uwera Murasa

Co-Founder

Global thinker. Policy whisperer. Change Agent. Executive Strategist.

Sandra is the powerhouse you call when you want to drive real change — the kind that moves from strategy decks to actual, visible transformation.

With over 24 years of experience in international development, sustainable trade, and policy influence, she brings serious credibility to the table.

A seasoned C-suite executive and thought leader, Sandra has worked her magic across Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, the UK and beyond — leading big conversations, shaping trade and development policy, and building institutions from scratch (literally).

She’s known for her rare ability to think globally and act locally — blending strategic vision with boots-on-the-ground practicality. Whether it’s negotiating with governments, driving multimillion-dollar partnerships, or launching a wellness project that’s as heart-centered as it is high-impact, Sandra does it all — and makes it look effortless.

A few of her superpowers include:

Strategic Leadership in International Development – from designing strategies for organizations and trade and industry led initiatives, to developing and implementing results driven programs that uplift enterprises, businesses, and economies.

Policy Advocacy & Thought Leadership – she’s influenced negotiations and discussions on industry and markets, sustainability, trade policy,  gender inclusion, and climate agendas at global and regional levels (and yes, she’s done her fair share of interviews, panels, articles and power lunches).

Communications and Public Relations; she has rebranded organizations corporate identities in the banking sector , in sub Saharan Africa and restructured regional organizations and global external relations departments to be stronger representatives of their organization.  At a leadership level she has represented companies as the public spokesperson and engaged in multiple media and global speaking forums , bringing home vast experience in persuasive communications as a tool for change.

Global Partnerships & Stakeholder Diplomacy – Sandra knows how to get development agencies, governments, and businesses rowing in the same direction.

Governance & Operational Finesse – complex boards, compliance, risk, finance? All part of her day job.

Program & Business Development – she doesn’t just write reports; she builds programs that work and scale.

A few proud highlights:

  • Fairtrade International – Led the organization, aligned execution of the  global strategy, drove advocacy on sustainability and inclusion, and built the commercial community and managed business and development partnerships across global markets.
  • COMESA Business Council – operationalized it,  scaled it to $17M, and positioned the institution as the recognized  voice of the private sector in the region.

Sandra is an Eisenhower and Thomas McGabe fellow, and was recently recognized as one of the “Voices of a New Era of Leaders” in 2024 — because apparently, global impact and humility can go hand in hand. She has also served on various regional and global  Boards and Advisory Committees, including ECOMARK Africa Advisory Board, Nespresso Sustainability Advisory Board, Small Firms Diaries Advisory Board , Mineral Africa Development Institute (MADI) among others.

She holds a Master of Science in Strategic Planning, advanced training in International Trade Policy and Law, a Business and Sustainable Leadership Diploma  and a Bachelors’ degree in Corporate Communication. She is a professionally Certified Digital Finance Practitioner-CDFP.
